where shown on plans 24" diameter Rubbish Chute
as manufactured by Wilkinson Chutes and specified below:
Chute
Material
The
Chute shall be fabricated of #16 U.S. Gauge Aluminized
Steel, or optional stainless steel chutes and fittings.
Sound
Insulation (optional)
Daubert
932 sound coat vibrations dampening compound to exterior
of chute only. Include Korfund sound isolator pads at
each floor support frame.
Intakes
15"
wide x 18" high, stainless steel, self-closing,
positive latching, bottom-hinged, hand operated doors
bearing 1-1/2 Hr. 250° F U.L. "B" label.
Intake door to pivot on a concealed 1/2" steel
pivot shaft to prevent build-up of debris. (Specify
masonry or drywall installation.) Intake doors to be
furnished with removable stainless steel door trim with
embossed letters (RUBBISH).
Cylinder
Locks (optional)
To
prevent unauthorized use of the chute, intake doors
can be furnished with keyed-alike locks or master-keyed
to the building.
Discharge
Wilkinson
Type "A", normally open, inclined rolling
door with fusible link. Discharge door panel to be fabricated
to "B" label construction (1" thick insulation)
even if U.L. Label is not required.
Vent
Provide
full diameter vent 4'-0" above roof with metal
explosion cap.
Floor
Frames
Fabricate
floor frames of 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 3/16"
angles and 1-1/2" x 3/16" bar stock welded
assembly.
Sprinklers
1/2"
IPS 165 degree sprinkler head with shield above top
intake. Additional 1/2" sprinklers and shields
at every second intake (or as required by Code). 3/4"
IPS flushing spray head centered in chute above top
intake ready for connection by plumber.
Chute
Cleaning
A
Disinfecting and Sanitizing (D&S) unit equipped
with adjusting screw to regulate the strength of disinfectant
introduced into the flushing water, connected to flushing
head spray head,. On-off valve on unit permits ability
to by-pass disinfecting and sanitizing unit when desired.
All D&S units require 15" x 15" high side-hinged
stainless steel access door bearing a U.L "B"
label.
